Selling a Property Held in Trust

Naturally, there are many trust sales that occur after someone passes, which are helped by the fact that probate court and a drawn out process aren’t necessary. It’s very similar to a standard real estate transaction, with only some minor differences. But there are many instances when a property is held in trust, and no one’s passed away yet. In fact, we’ve found that a full 30% of properties nowadays are owned in either a revocable or irrevocable trust. Setting up a living trust is a wise decision for homeowners, as it makes it easier on family when they pass on. But it also creates a new set of circumstances that must be addressed while they’re alive and wanting to sell a property that’s included in the trust.
